Helping Women and Children in Crisis by Distributing Clothing and Other Essentials at No Cost

UPDATES & CURRENT EVENTS

Women Giving Back was honored to stand alongside Chair Phyllis Randall, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, LAWS Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services, and Silence No More for the proclamation of October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to safety, justice, and healing for survivors in our community. Thank you to the Board of Supervisors for recognizing this vital work and the importance of standing in solidarity.

On Friday, October 3, Women Giving Back hosted its Referral Partner Open House and Community Resource Fair. The event brought together frontline community workers dedicated to combating poverty and homelessness, and supporting families on their path to self-sufficiency. Attendees enjoyed complimentary lunch, professional headshots, networking opportunities, and a tour of the WGB facility.

A highlight of the day was the Lunch & Learn session led by Kim Tapper, Co-Founder and Executive Director of A Place to Be, who spoke on “Keeping a Strong Back and Soft Front.” Her talk encouraged participants to reflect, breathe, and reconnect with themselves amidst busy schedules. The event also featured a raffle with exciting prizes and a variety of community resources.

Gratitude in Action: Thank You, Providencia Group!

Last week, we had the privilege of learning from our incredible corporate partner, The Providencia Group (TPG), during a powerful training session on boundary setting - a vital skill for our referral partners who work tirelessly on the front lines.

A heartfelt thank you to Shelby Mancuso and Virginia Johnson from TPG for leading the session with such clarity, compassion, and expertise. Their insights not only deepened our understanding but also equipped our team with practical tools to navigate complex interactions with confidence and care.

We’re truly grateful for TPG’s continued partnership and willingness to share their knowledge. Collaborations like this strengthen our work and help us better serve our communities.

Flint Hill School Moms Shine Bright!

We’re overflowing with gratitude for the amazing volunteers from Flint Hill School in Oakton, a longtime supporter of Women Giving Back. This month, 31 incredible Flint Hill moms rolled up their sleeves and brought unmatched energy to our warehouse - sorting, boxing, and hanging clothing with joy and purpose.

Their enthusiasm didn’t stop there! These powerhouse parents are also organizing clothing drives and rallying Flint Hill sports teams to join the mission. We’re so thankful for their continued dedication and the heart they bring to everything they do.

Thank you, Flint Hill School community - you’re helping us make a real difference, one volunteer shift at a time!
