Happy Back-to-School season! Thanks to your generosity, hundreds of children who shopped with us this month will enter the classroom with tools to succeed, including backpacks, school supplies, shoes, and clothing. Along with 14 of our community partners, we were able to distribute 422 backpacks this year! Together, we're shaping the future one student at a time. A special note of appreciation to 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter for sponsoring this initiative! |

HomeGrown of Thrive Restaurant Group and the Archer Hotel in Alexandria, VA, brought family and friends together for an inspired restaurant opening focused on collaborating with local partners. As part of their mission to invest back into the community, Women Giving Back was invited to share our work and garner support for our vital programs and resources. Talk about a recipe for success! |

Thank you to everyone who attended Afternoon Tea with WGB! Our gracious host and event underwriter Ridgetop Coffee helped us put on a lovely event to connect with the community, allowing 100% of event proceeds to go directly toward our family support programs. Our cups were filled both literally and figuratively, and our hearts were as warm as the drinks we poured! |

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our Back-to-School efforts! It took dozens of dedicated volunteers to set up the boutique, backpacks, and shoe displays for a dignified school shopping experience. Additionally, Distribution Day volunteers including Junior League of Northern Virginia, Apple Federal Credit Union, and The Dean Family ensured each family found items that perfectly suited their needs.

A HUGE round of applause for one of our most outstanding and longstanding volunteers, Marianne Ford, who has logged over 2,000 volunteer hours with WGB!
Marianne's service spans over a decade (and includes many more hours that predate our volunteer tracking!). You can find her helping out in any and every capacity, from sorting and hanging clothing donations to restocking the boutique, from packing boxes for our Community Distribution Partner deliveries to setting up for events. She logs some lengthy and frequent volunteer shifts, yet her energy and enthusiasm are ever-present; her heart of gold and caring spirit are evident from the moment you meet her. We sincerely thank Marianne for being a pillar of the WGB and greater communities!
