WGB staff at Silence No More Movement's Survivorship Panel, hosted by Carahsoft

Members of the WGB team engaged in a meaningful experience participating in Silence No More Movement's Survivorship Panel. The event brought together community leaders, nonprofit partners, and local allies for an open honest dialogue on reducing domestic violence and human trafficking. Through raised awareness and empathetic listening, the panel inspired collaborative and strategic thinking focused on preventing survivors from returning to critical circumstances.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Her Nite to Unite with Loudoun United FC! We had a great time sharing our work with newcomers as well as providing exciting updates to our loyal supporters. Plus, with the help of some generous donations, our boutique is a little closer to being ready for Back-to-School time!

In addition to backpacks, we're also excited to offer new tennis shoes during our Back-to-School distribution. Your donation can help a child walk into school with comfort, confidence, and a smile.

We're collecting NEW sneakers (youth and adult sizes) for K-12 students through Wednesday, August 6th.

We are happy to announce that Caroline Gates has joined our team as Development Manager! Caroline’s extensive background in Marketing and Communications and experience in Corporate Social Responsibility will bring a fresh perspective to our organization as we plan for the future. As Development Manager, Caroline will be leading fundraising efforts, supporting WGB’s growth and helping to expand our capacity to serve those in our community.

Registration includes drinks, scones, sandwiches, and desserts, with 100% of ticket proceeds directly supporting our community programs. We will also be accepting children's clothing and diaper donations at the event.

This month we shine our spotlight on 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter for once again sponsoring our Back-to-School distribution — but this year doubling their contribution and impact with an incredible $10,000 donation! The support went beyond the funds as their volunteer group packaged each bag of school supplies for our families' Back-to-School shopping next week. Their generosity will help hundreds of young future leaders and innovators shoot for the stars this schoolyear. We are also excited to celebrate and congratulate superstar volunteer Leslie Bainbridge for hitting the 1,000 hours benchmark this month! Leslie has achieved this remarkable milestone in less than 3 years with WGB, a testament to her dedication to helping and uplifting her fellow community members. Her sunny demeanor and kind-hearted guidance as a Sort Lead has enhanced the volunteer experience in our warehouse and boutique, making everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome and valued. She is a pro at curating Bags-to-Go with care, and an outstanding WGB ambassador as a member of our Speakers Bureau. Thank you, Leslie, for your consistent and continued support!
