Helping Women and Children in Crisis by Distributing Clothing and Other Essentials at No Cost

UPDATES & CURRENT EVENTS

Board and Committee members joined WGB staff for our Annual Board Meeting to kick off 2025.  In addition to reviewing our year of dynamic growth and meaningful impact, we strategized how our organization can continue to fulfill the community's evolving needs.  Stay tuned for lots of exciting developments to come!

During the meeting, the Board re-elected our Executive Officers, all of whom have been graciously long-engaged in Women Giving Back's work through volunteering and leadership:

⭐ President: Cyndi Shanahan
⭐ Vice President: Ebony Landon
⭐ Treasurer: Shona Bell
⭐ Secretary: Lauren Vanni Kinard

Thanks to all for their dedication and continued service!

We also welcomed new Board Member Angela Mitchell, a fierce proponent of inclusivity and empowerment. Through personal experience witnessing resilient women overcome challenges, she understands the importance of prioritizing holistic support systems, addressing systemic barriers, and amplifying the voices of those we serve. Her experience with co-founding the nonprofit Women and Girls Inspiring STEM Excellence (WISE) and chairing Loudoun Coalition on Women and Girls speaks to her empathy for our clientele and her determination in making a difference in their lives. Angela is a powerful force to have behind any initiative, and we thank her so much for joining our team!

We are proud and excited to share our CEO and Executive Director Nicole Morris receive the Loudoun Chamber's 2025 Nonprofit Executive Leader Award!

This honor is a reflection and recognition of the collective efforts of our entire team, partners, and supporters who share a common goal of making the world a better place.

We are so fortunate to work with such passionate individuals who continuously inspire us with their commitment to serving others.  View all the nominees and winners here.

L to R: Loudoun Chamber Board Chair Scott Loftis, WGB CEO Nicole Morris, Loudoun Chamber Executive Committee Member Carol Barbe, Loudoun Chamber Immediate Past Chair and WGB Board Member Angela Mitchell

Our annual MLK Day of Service may have been delayed by the wintry weather, but it was just as powerful a show of public service to honor one of our nation's most pivotal civic leaders.  ManTech volunteers, who always reliably show up in force, truly embodied Dr. King's legacy of compassion and kindness.

Thank you to all who joined us, especially on this day of reverence, to help fulfill The Dream of unity and equity for all.
