Longtime supporters M&T Bank and NBC4 really brought the energy to celebrate Valentine's Day and kick off Random Acts of Kindness Week! It was the perfect show of spreading the love and cultivating kindness. We are so thankful for both teams (and our early-bird WGB regulars!) for joining us and sharing our mission with a wider audience. Re-watch the live news segments here. |

It was a joyous occasion participating in the ribbon-cutting for a permanent career closet at Marymount University! Stocked with professional clothing and shoes for both women and men, the free career closet in the Center for Career Development & Community Engagement will help students look and feel their best going into interviews and starting jobs or internships. By partnering with Marymount on this joint venture, WGB is proudly empowering students by providing access to professional attire that supports their career aspirations and propels economic mobility.

A special shoutout to the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Northern Virginia Chapter 77 and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Northern Virginia for their joint volunteering efforts this month! Not only does each group regularly help in the boutique and warehouse, they have both supported WGB in additional ways as well: IREM selecting us as the beneficiary of their fundraising events, and CREW partnering with us to host resume and interview workshops for clients. We sincerely thank both teams for their exceptional multi-faceted community work!

We'd also like to highlight the incredible efforts of the National Charity League Virginia Bluebell Chapter, one of our well-established volunteer groups. For their annual Ticktocker Day, a tradition devoted to philanthropy and community service, the NCL Bluebell girls hosted a donation drive that brought in 4,600 diapers! Over 100 chapter members helped hand-package the diapers with care into bundles for our Diaper Pantry. Their initiative will help nearly 100 babies stay clean and dry next month, and we are so grateful for this crucial support!
