September is National Workforce Development Month! We are proud to offer job-related resources that enhance our mission's pillars of empowerment and independence.

The newest addition to this initiative is our Career Closet program, which we launched in partnership with Northern Virginia Community College at their Annandale campus! By providing access to free professional attire (as well as casual apparel for class), we aim to support students' career aspirations and propel economic mobility.

We look forward to expanding this program across various college campuses — stay tuned to see more!

In line with Workforce Development Month, we also hosted our annual resume workshop with CREW Northern Virginia. Clients were invited for resume crafting and interview coaching, followed by shopping for professional attire in our boutique. There's nothing like an enhanced toolkit and a confidence boost on the pathway to success!

Our annual 9/11 Day of Service at George Mason University was an exemplary display of community. Students collected clothing donations all across campus and helped sort them for our boutique. It was truly inspiring to see so many hands working in the spirit of unity and compassion that defines this day of remembrance.

We're excitedly preparing to Tee Off with you at Topgolf One Loudoun on Wednesday, October 16th! If you haven't already, reserve a bay spot to practice your swing or grab a ticket to come network, socialize, and enjoy some food and drinks on the open-air terrace. First 100 registrants receive an event gift bag!

Bays and single tickets available. All proceeds benefit WGB's supportive programs.

We'll be kicking off our fall silent auction with items on display (but everyone is welcome to bid online!). PLUS we have another holiday raffle item making its debut at the event!

A huge thank you to the little helpers from the Quarterpath community who collected food donations throughout their neighborhood and assembled snack packs for our boutique! This phenomenal group showed that anyone and everyone can make a difference in the world, and it's never too early to start!

Meet our new Volunteer Engagement Specialist!

We are thrilled to announce that Susan Ruiz has joined the WGB team! Having been a WGB referral partner as a family liaison with Loudoun County Public Schools, Susan is very familiar with our work and shares our passion for equipping families to thrive. Her experience as a dedicated educator and expertise in communication and outreach make her an excellent addition to WGB, where she will be working closely with our individual, group, and corporate volunteers. When you see her in the warehouse or boutique, feel free to introduce yourself and give her a warm welcome!
