To start off February, WGB was part of an Afghan Support Center, a resource event hosted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to help Afghan refugees get resettled. Over the multi-day event, some of our staff and volunteers connected with attendees by distributing clothing and providing information on other resources we offer. |

New clean underwear is an often overlooked essential which we provide in our Bags-to-Go, a program largely utilized by our referred shelter residents. Thanks to a sizeable in-kind donation from Walmart and the diligent work of our local volunteer group Mocha Moms, we have dozens of newly sorted, matched, carefully-packed and size-labeled bags of underwear ready to be used for emergency Bag-to-Go cases. |

"I have always believed that you should always help those in need, because not only is it the right thing to do, it also makes the world feel a little better." |

Karima is a dedicated advocate for domestic violence awareness and aid in her community. Part of her efforts includes regularly hosting donation drives benefitting Women Giving Back, collecting a variety of supplies from clothing to diapers to toys during the holidays in support of our mission. As a property manager in Woodbridge, she has been a remarkable ambassador for WGB's mission, extending our reach beyond our own backyard. Karima's colleagues cannot say enough about her kindness and leadership which foster a strong sense of unity and empathy. Her passion for helping others extends into everything she does, and we are so grateful she is part of the WGB village!
