February 2022
Thank you to all of our volunteers and supporters for helping us kick off our free prom boutique this month! We have been able to provide 31 high school students with a prom dress thus far! Prom Boutique will continue to run through March and April!
In Loving Memory of Tracy Graves
WGB lost one of our own this month. Tracy Graves was a longtime volunteer and board member for WGB since the beginning.
Tracy was a friend, mentor and advocate for every woman that she met. She had the ability to make all of us feel like we were instant family. We are all better people for having learned from Tracy. From how to truly laugh out loud with vigor and authenticity, her honesty, openness, and how to dig deep into our faith when life got hard. Tracy showed us all that together, we could make a difference by being kind, patient and present.
Tracy’s loyalty and dedication to family was her first and foremost priority. WGB was part of that family, and for that we will forever be grateful. She will live in our hearts, forever.
February was a very busy month at WGB! We served 1,025 women and children in our boutique this month. We are now able to open more hours and serve more clients than ever before. Winter coats were provided to all clients to keep them warm for the rest of the season!
Our diaper pantry has never been busier! This month, we beat our own record by serving 425 babies! That's 42,500 diapers - WOW! We are in need of size 6 diapers - consider hosting a diaper drive to support our diaper pantry.
A special shoutout to our corporate volunteers Mortgage Bankers Association and NextMark Credit Union for helping organize our warehouse and helping us restock our boutique during shopping shifts! You ROCK!
This month we served clients from Friends of Guest House; a local non-profit that assists women successfully reenter the community from incarceration. They envision a world where your past does not define your future. We love supporting these ladies!
BREAKING RECORDS! Holy Diapers! We beat our own record this month serving 421 babies! Did you know that 1 in 3 families struggle to afford enough diapers? There is so much need in our community. We need your help with size 5 and 6 diapers to replenish our diaper pantry. BLACK HISTORY MONTH February was Black History Month, and we highlighted the amazing Black women who work tirelessly behind the scenes at WGB. Shona Bell, from Beyond Accounting & Tax, and Vanessa Williams, from Cornerstones, are an integral part of WGB - thank you for all you do!
