Project Kenya

Allisyn Lam a WGB Volunteer, sophomore at Briar Woods and a student of the Loudoun County Chamber's Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) has been continuously working on provide supports and supplies to 32 children who live in an orphanage in Kitale, Kenya. The  Asande House orphanage is ran by two sisters, one who lives her in Loudoun and the other who lives at the orphanage.

WGB is supporting Allisyn and the orphanage by providing clothing and other supplies they need but she still needs helps with funds for the shipping costs.  Please see how you can help: https://kenya.kaiizen.org/other-ways-to-give/

WGB Hosts Strategic Volunteering Workshop


Women Giving Back will host a Strategic Volunteering workshop “How to Become More Hirable (and Find the Work You Love) Through Strategic Volunteering” on Tuesday, March 19 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in our training room.

At this workshop, you will meet members of FlexProfessionals and Charity Connect, discover how these organizations can support you, learn how to strategically volunteer to meet your professional goals, receive job search tips for career re-entry or transition, and build your network by interacting with like-minded professionals.

Cost: $15.00

All registration fees received from this event will be donated to Women Giving Back!

9th Annual Heart+Pints Bazaar to benefit WGB

Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 5 to 9pm
Liberty BBQ – 370 W. Broad, Falls Church, VA 22046

Gathering together local and free-trade artisans as well as makers and crafters for an evening to benefit Women Giving Back, Advon Real Estate is hosting the 9th Annual Heart+Pints Bazaar.

A benefit to inspire the community to think about Local and Free-Trade artists while bringing awareness to a meaningful cause. The cause has brought focus to Domestic Violence and women in crisis.

Mural Project

The Claude Moore Community Builders gave one of our dressing rooms an artistic face lift. 

The Claude Moore Community Builders program is recognized as a valuable teen volunteer and leadership training program in the Loudoun Community. Celebrating its tenth year in operation, this program was developed to instill a culture of service and leadership in our youth which ultimately aids Loudoun County’s ever-growing population.  Loudoun Youth is proud to partner with Loudoun Cares to present this program, with the support and guidance of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.  CMCB engages youth in meaningful volunteer opportunities that benefit the organizations they are paired with and the greater community as a whole.



Women’s Empowerment Luncheon

We are truly excited to present Women Giving Back’s 1st Women’s Empowerment Luncheon presented by M&T Bank which will be held on International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day (March 8th) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Training Futures Northern Virginia Family Service - Training Futures program partnered up with WGB again this year to host intern, Irene Torres.

Training Futures is a nationally recognized workforce development program that provides training for living-wage professional office careers.

Disney on Ice: Worlds of Enchantment

Thanks to our generous Board Member Cecilia Hodges, WGB hosted our client Jacquie and her beautiful family at the Disney on Ice show in the M&T Bank Suite.

Their two little girls were squealing with joy all night. So much celebration in one evening as the family has been battling with health issues.


Journey Church Donation

After only three weeks of collecting, Journey Church dropped off 183 items including coats, clothes, prom dresses, underwear, shoes and purses to WGB.

Some of these items still had tags on them or were like new.

We’re so proud of Journey Church helping the community we serve!
