Women Giving Back

A Letter from our Executive Director

Nicole Morris, Executive Director

Dear WGB Friends,

We miss our volunteers dearly and are so appreciative of how many of our volunteers want to get involved and support during this critical time. Although we have temporarily placed our volunteer opportunities on hold, we still want to offer a few ways you can help support our important work.

  • Purchase items from our Amazon Wish List or other like items from online stores and have them shipped directly to our warehouse at 20 Export Drive, Sterling, VA 20164. Or pick up a few of our needed items below and drop them off in our no-contact bin outside our warehouse.
  • Assemble snackpacks from home and drop them off at our warehouse. Personalize them with a thoughtful, uplifting note in each one. It’s a great way for teens to earn volunteer service hours. Email our volunteer coordinator to make sure your hours are credited.
  • Organize a fundraiser for #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5th from your Facebook page or set up a GoFundMe page for your friends and family to help you spread the word.
  • Make a monetary donation towards our efforts. All donations coming in at this time go straight towards funding our COVID-19 relief efforts.
  • Share, share, share our efforts with your network. By simply sharing this email or one of our Facebook posts, you are making an impact and helping us spread the word about WGB!

We had to cancel our Cinco de Mayo fundraiser so we will be celebrating virtually and participating in #GivingTuesdayNow.

#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled December 1, 2020 #GivingTuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.
