Volunteer of the Year Awards

WGB is proud to announce our 2019 Volunteers of the Year! These exceptional volunteers have provided immense support to our clients and our mission. We are so lucky to have them and give them the “Golden Hanger”.

The award was presented at the Cinco de Mayo event on May 2nd.

All of our incredible volunteers see firsthand the impact that they make as they work directly with clients at WGB. Volunteers are the heart of our organization and accomplishing our mission is not possible without their help and support. We want to send a big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers for sharing your time, talents, and hearts with WGB!

Individual Golden Hanger: Cristina Sindhu

Cristina Sindhu is one of our treasures at WGB! She donates not only her time but also her professional skills as an organizer to help WGB in the warehouse and store.

Not only does she find solutions for stuff (hence her organizer business @Solutionsforstuff), but she also continuously serves as a dedicated Sort Leader for volunteers. There is not a week that goes by that we don't see her friendly face.

Group Golden Hanger: First Excel Title

First Excel Title has been involved with WGB since 2015 and their dedication to WGB’s mission has been obvious. In addition to volunteering as a group, First Excel has organized several happy hour fundraisers on our behalf and host donation drives for kids’ costumes, toys, swimwear and sunscreen every year. First Excel employees are engaged and committed to strengthening the local community as they also give back to Homes for Heroes and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department.

Lindsay Fox is a regular WGB youth volunteer and is always willing to help wherever the need is great at WGB. From providing childcare, helping women and children shop, making special client valentines and serving as an elf during our Holiday Gifts for Kids event, she interacts with the clients with confidence and grace. Lindsay does every task with a gleeful smile and heartfelt of giving. Lindsay also volunteers for the Tin Cup Fund, co-founded by her mom Melissa Fox who is a past recipient of WGB’s Golden Hanger award.
